The Company, as Data Controller, undertakes to protect the confidentiality and the rights of the interested party and, according to the principles dictated by mentioned standards, the processing of the data provided will be based on the principles of fairness, lawfulness and transparency.
1. Source and categories of data processed
The personal data that the Company may collect will normally be directly provided by the interested party as a consequence of their participation in the relevant event. Such data may be, by way of example, identification data and personal data (name, surname, email, etc.).
2. Purpose of the treatment
The processing of the subjects’ personal data by the Company is necessary to allow registration and participation in the online international conference "DIS / ENTANGLING TECHNOSCIENCE" organized by the Italian Society of Studies and Technology Studies (STS Italia) (hereinafter "Event") on 17, 18, 19 June 2021.
3. Processing methods
The data are processed by the Data Controller both manually (processing of deeds and paper documents) and with IT methods and procedures, also with the aid of electronic, telephone, telematic or in any case through automated procedures; the same applies when the data are communicated for the aforementioned purposes to the subjects indicated under point 4 of this information notice, who in turn are committed to treating them only in ways that are strictly necessary for the specific purposes indicated in this information notice and in compliance with the legislation.
4. Communication and dissemination of data
Personal data will not be disseminated, or will not be communicated to indeterminate subjects in any possible form, including that of making them available for consultation. Without prejudice to communications made in fulfillment of legal obligations, the personal data of the interested party may be known exclusively for the purposes listed above, besides the Data Controller, by:
- employees and collaborators of the Data Controller who are authorized to process data ("Officers");
- subjects who support the Data Controller in the management and in the organization of the Event.
5. Data retention policy
The Company stores personal data in its systems in a form that allows the identification of the interested parties for a period of time that is no longer than the Event, unless it is necessary to the organization of the Event itself or it is otherwise required by regulatory or contractual obligations.
6. Publication of own images and video
By registering to the conference, participants agree to publish their name, photographs, and videos taken during the event or submitted as part of their participation to the Event, on the conference website. Participants agree that images and videos can be stored by the Owner since their submission and until sixty days after the conference, and published in a restricted area of the conference website (“video library”) free of charge. Only the subjects indicated under point 4. of this information notice and other registered participants to the Event will have access to images and videos. Participants assume full responsibility for all the information disclosed in their video/images which must not make the Owner or STS Italia liable for any consequential damages caused by their publication. Participants shall not use images and videos for purposes different from the Event. In particular, the use of images/videos in contexts that compromise personal dignity and decorum is prohibited.
7. Rights of the interested party
The interested party can assert their rights, recognized by Articles 15-22 of the GDPR, such as the right of access, the right to cancellation, the right of opposition to the processing, the right to limit the processing, the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
